¢Á name's origin :
In
the 10th of King Gongmin of the
Gyryeo Dynasty, King and Queen
fled with their mother from Honggeonjok(Mongolian)'s
invasion to this mountain via
Andong and Suncheon.
The King who were enchanted with
mountain's splendidness, built
a temporary palace, and stayed
for about one year. The mountain
was originally called Mt. Nabok
but the King changed it into Mt.
Mohu, meaning the mountain like
mother's heart, said the locals.
Other name, Mt. Moho originated
from Kim Seong-won's story. He
fought desperately against Japanese
army to protect his mother and
finally was dead in the Japanese
Invasion of Korea in 1597.
¢Á Geographical features
Mt. Mohu, the one
of Seomjin's seven contiguous
lines of a stratum, comes from
Mt. Baeka and stops in front of
Dongbokcheon Stream. This geographic
feature runs from north to south,
drawing a line of demarcation
between Suncheon-gun, Gokseong-gun
and Hwasun-gun. This mountain,
surrounded by blue water on all
side but one with Juam Dam's fresh
water, has a wonderful view of
Mt. Mudeung, Mt. Jokye, Mt. Baeka,
and the Deukryang Peninsula's
sea. Gentle slopes are in general
but some courses are steep.
